They haven't posted anything on social media since December 2019 either. So I actually thought that the dev team, had disbanded. However, that post is 11 months old, and it's also the last post on the devblog, ever. You can read the last devblog on the Iron Danger site, which mentions that Linux and OSX builds of Iron Danger were playable, but had some graphical discrepancies that they wanted to iron (sorry) out: It is just amazingly stupid to even do so, when there exists way easier trivial solution to this problem, namely use the dual boot for Windows only apps. If you ever tried using Proton, typical game installation revolves around downloading some missing DLL files, placing them somewhere, editing some config files, and than game works 95% time, possibly without cut-scene movies or occasional minor glitches. Freedom would be if you could decide on the OS, but instead you are given only Windows version, and responsibility for fixing bugs is shifted towards philanthropists and yourself. That freedom is taken away from you, because there were no incentives to make native build. The fact is exactly the opposite to what you claim being freedom of choosing OS you want to play on. Proton has it's own bugs (as any software) on the top of attempting to reverse-engineer closed source code OS which ALSO has it's own bugs. Unfortunately, it is delusional to think that emulation of closed source OS is a project that can ever be accomplished. The last barrier seems to be the anticheats and there are bright minds working on it. The power to decide whether we should have the right to run a game on Linux shifted from developers to users because of it. 引用自 Patola Linux:Say that for yourself, I am very glad Proton exists.
